How to measure and fit The Zebedee Any Angle Hanging Rail

Creating effective storage in loft bedrooms doesn’t have to involve bulky, space-consuming furniture.

The Zebedee Any Angle Hanging Rail is designed to make the most of sloped eaves areas with minimal effort and maximum efficiency. Easy to install, it offers a smart solution for awkward spaces.

Did you know?

A Zebedee rail mounted on a slope actually experiences less gravitational pull than a horizontal rail of the same length. Our custom-designed brackets work with the slope, providing robust support. Because the screws are installed at an angle and feature a panhead design, the system is exceptionally secure—minimizing stress on the fixing points.

We occasionally receive returns due to concerns that a ceiling isn’t strong enough to support the rail. While we are always happy to accept returns, it’s worth noting that—except in cases such as lime and lath plaster ceilings in very old properties—installation is usually much simpler than expected. Even in challenging situations, there’s often a practical solution.

Fitting Demonstration by Free Bird Interiors

Clothing hanging from an angled yellow clothing rail attached to a sloped roof.

One option is to fit a baton to the ceiling first, (a bit like fitting a curtain rail) either straight into the beam behind the plaster board, or by using plaster board plugs every 10″ or so to share the weight. The Zebedee Rails can then be fitted straight to that very simply!

Very steeply angled sloped roof with a clothing rail fitted. Clothes hangers are hanging from the railing.

Bridge two loft beams with a wider, decorative piece of wood, like fitting a wardrobe top, and then you can centralise the fitting of your Zebedee’s.

Or

3 angled clothing rails fitted into 3 different sized recesses in a wall, all with sloped ceilings and clothing hanging from them.

Easily top fix into any sloping wardrobe!

Then sit back and enjoy your beautifully organised, fully utilised space!
